This is used for tying together ropes with unequal thickness and for tying a rope to a loop or for joining ropes to the materials such as staffs, sails, cloth. The loop should be made in the material or thick rope. This knot is used for hoisting the flag. It is useful only when small piece of rope is available for hanging up sarees to dry.
Reef knot
This is used for tying together two ends of ropes of equal thickness. It is also the knot which should be used for tying triangular bandages. It is good knot for fastening parcels and the ropes round the rolls of bedding. Dhobis use it for tying up the ends of their bundles. It is a fiat knot does not ship and is easily untied.

A whipping knot or whipping is a binding of marlinetwine or whipcord around the end of a rope to prevent its natural tendency to fray. The purpose of a whipping is to prevent the end of a rope from fraying. Whipping is suitable for synthetic and natural stranded and braided ropes.
The common whipping is the classic simple whipping and can be made very close to the end of the rope, which is ideal if the end has already been melted with a little practice and the appropriate size of whipping twine, it creates a very neat appearance.

What is a patrol system?A troop shall be divided into patrols. Each patrol will have patrol corner, patrol song, patrol yell, patrol sign, patrol cry, patrol flag. Each patrol may consist of six to eight scouts inclusive of patrol leader and second.

Each patrol has a flag that display the emblem of the patrol. The patrol flag is triangular in shape, white in colour with emblem in red colour the length of the base is 20cm and sides 30cms each.

Each patrol lined up at the starting line. Two patrol participated in the game. Had a hudge for each patrol standing about 30 feet away holding a bucket with all the numbered papers in it. A scout runs to the judge draws out a paper and says the word of the scout law that it corresponds with.
I pulled the chit and I got the number 4 and said friendly. We got 20 points. Our opposition party got 15 points. We won the game.
The game was related to law and we were very confidents about the nine points of the laws.

Each patrol made a circle. On signal each patrol tried to make the longest “rope” using everyone’s rope, belts neckerchief etc. each patrol tried their level best. My patrol members were very co-operative and all helped each other to won the competition. Four patrols participated with team spirit. Two patrols used their socks too to make lick a longest rope.
We learnt the team spirit, helping nature and co-operation. We learnt to be friendly with others.

Choose the button and the thread. Thread the needle. Tie a knot at the end of the thread. Position the button on the fabric. Push the threaded needle up through the fabric and through one hole in the button. Place a straight pin. Restart the process. Strengthen the button on the last stitch; push the needle through the material, but not through a hole in the button. Remove the straight pin. Wrap the thread. Push the needle back down through the material. Make three or four stitches to secure the thread

General rules of health
Sun light and fresh air : sun light is very essential for health and physical growth. There are hauled- giving health preserving properties in the sun- shine and it is essential for everyone to remain in it for sometime every day.
Cleanliness: this is very important thing because it covers such a wide subject, cleanliness of body surroundings and mind all contributes to a healthy body and healthy outlook of life.
Exercise: to make yourself strong and healthy is necessary to be with your inside and to get the blood into good order and the heart works well.
Rest: it is impossible to keep healthy unless the mind and body rest and sleep. The body must have reasonable leisure which it gets while we are resting and sleeping.
Food: food eaten by us is converted by our body into heat and energy which keeps us alive and gives us strength to work.
Clothing: clothes should be always light and appropriate. It should not be tight-fitted. Wash your clothes after use.
